Casa Cecilia

Sept 30, 2009 -- ate at Casa Cecilia in Taal, Batangas...

I guess this is one of the few fine dining and yet cheap resto/hotel in the province. When you go to Taal, i am suggesting this place for its elegance and affordability. Enjoy!

Food - Really good. 5 stars from me ;p
--- suggest that you try tawilis and maliputo which can only be found in the lake of Taal
--- that night we ordered the softest pork meet and crunchiest crispy pata that i've ever tasted.. haha para nga Oishi Marty's yung skin... ang lutong! we also had crispy crablets, chicken teriyaki and chopsuey ;)

Ambiance - cozy and homy

Service - fast, accurate and friendly

Parking is a little bit crowded since there's a nearby hospital with limited space that's why doctors tend to go here.

abu

today is the birthday of my childhood friend whom i haven't talked to since i was in high school. and early this morning i found out from a common friend that he has a kid already! actually she did not say it directly but it was implied. hahaha... it made me relaize that i am really getting older! awww

also, this common friend asked why i didn't end up with this childhood friend. hmm one is that he and i haven't seen or talked to for quite some time now and may the other is just that we are not meant to be together.. hmm our destinies are not the on the same path...

anyway, happy birthday abu! may you have a good one!

korean beef stew

i just saw this recipe and it makes my palate tingle.. hmm can't wait to try it p yum yum been looking for this recipe for quite some time now. can't wait to try it ;p

Ingredients:
1-1/2 kilos of beef short ribs, cut into serving pieces1 whole garlic1 whole onion3 thumb-sized pieces of ginger (wash and scrub, no need to peel)1 tbsp. of chili powder1 tbsp. of whole black peppercorns3-4 siling haba (finger chilis), optional but recommended2 bay leaves1/2 c. of dark soy sauce3/4 to 1 c. of white sugarsalt12-15 stalks of sibuyas na mura (onion leaves)1-2 tbsps. of sesame seeds

Place the beef in a cooking pot. Cover with water. Place over high heat and, boil for five to ten minutes or until the meat is no longer red. Throw out the water and rinse the beef to remove all traces of scum.
Rinse out the pot, replace and beef and cover with water once more. Add the whole garlic, onion, ginger, chili powder, finger chilis, if using, and bay leaves. Pour in the soy sauce and stir in the sugar. Simmer gently for two hours or until the meat is very tender.
Halfway through the cooking, taste the broth and add salt. Do not be tempted to add more soy sauce instead of salt; otherwise, the broth will turn too dark.
While the beef simmers, toast the sesame seeds. Place them in a small frying pan and set over medium-low heat. Shake the pan often for even toasting.
Slice the onion leaves finely.
To assemble, place two to three pieces of beef in individual soup bowls. Ladle plenty of broth over them. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced onion leaves. Serve at once.

Alkaline Water P50 --> they claim it to be the "miracle water" as it heals certain diseases and slows dwn process of agin... hmm i just wonder if this is true.. and if it is, how come some say this is not suitable to younger people? cos it will make them a lot younger? haha i guess not... ;p

RN's abroad

I just read this blog (see below) that made me feel good because there is still hope for those who would like to go abroad specifically us. my mom told me that not only hemodialysis nurses can go only but also those in critical care. but i guess hemodialysis is the most on demand now with the lifestyle that we have...

hope i can leave too.. hmmm.. just have to have experience and tenure first though.. hahaha sacrifice first right? ;p lol

Hemodialysis Nurse
#fullpost{display:none;}
We are sharing the good news with you that most of the nurses that applied to the Disneyworld/Orlando-based Florida Hospital Network few months ago are now in Orlando, Florida. Our company, U.S. Global Consultants, Ltd. (USGC) and its affiliated -partners in the U.S. and the Philippines are proud to say that we were able to deliver the deployment of the first batch of nurses under the USCIS H-1B working visa.Indeed, we are humbled but very proud of this unique achievement in helping our nurses fulfill their American Dream for the proverbial “greener pastures” and are now able to help the families they left behind. Initially, some of our applicants doubted the H-1B working visa processing amidst the fact that USGC knew all along that the I-140 immigrant visa retrogression would still be in effect. Nobody knows the timetable when the U.S. Congress would authorize USCIS to lift said retrogression.Conversely, most of our first batch of nurses already had their I-140 immigrant visa petition (Packet 4-pending) but they decided to follow USGC’s action- plan to be deployed under the H-1B visa petition. The fact is they are already here in Orlando, Florida and will soon complete their orientation -training program to become a full-pledged RN-USA.Accordingly, USGC wishes to inform our nurse applicants that our new Principals-* University of Miami Health System - Miami, FL (3 Hospital complex)* Miami- Jackson Medical Center - Miami - FL (2 Hospital complex)* Resurrection HealthCare System - Chicago, IL (8 Hospital complex)are in need of Critical Care nurses for immediate deployment under the H-1B visa. We would like to extend this opportunity and invite you to apply. Please contact our affiliate partners and consultants in the Philippines and/or you can email your comprehensive resumes to: xxxxxx####@xxxxx.xxxWe process your documents in cooperation with JES INTERNATIONAL MANPOWER in Einstein St. San Isidro Makati CityThank you so much for trusting your future with USGC.
